Ádám Kósa becomes president

On 16 December, the newly formed European Parliament Disability intergroup gathered in Strasbourg to elect its Board to lead the work of the Intergroup in the 7th parliamentary term.

Richard Howitt, President of the past two Intergroups, stepped down and proposed Adam Kosa, a long-standing supporter of the disability community and a person with a disability himself, as the new President. The nomination was unanimously accepted by acclamation.

The Bureau of the Disability Intergroup, made up of the President and nine Vice-Presidents has been approved as follows:

The position of the Vice-President from ECR Group is still vacant and will be filled at the earliest opportunity.
The first function of the new Intergroup will be the New Year’s Cocktail to celebrate the launch of the Intergroup. It will take place on 27 January at 18h30-20h30 at the European Parliament in Brussels.
