One of the seeded topics of the parliamentary session on Wednesday was corporate social responsibility. In the Question Time for the Council french MEP Harlem Désir conjured it up, that the European Parliament asked the introduction of practice in March 2007 that facilitates handing for the victims to bring a lawsuit to European Courts about compensations. Extends the responsibility of the executives to stop their companies’ negative effect on environment and human rights. And it  creates clearly defined standards on an international level.
The Council has made a declaration wherein the achievements of the last two years were mentioned, but also pressed that the framework of an common agreement should come into existance which prescribes the state’s defensive obligation and ensures that the business world have to respect the human rights, or can be sanctioned.
MEP Kósa Ádám said, the companies would be able to utilize their pensioner colleagues experience even in the civil sphere, instead of left their to their fate.
Since Europe is an aging society –said Kósa – it is important to the companies to take attention on retiring colleagues, so they will be able to stay active in their years left.
That is good for the economy and good for the people, so Kósa.
